solstice

Wonderful day of the year. The earth is fresh from the nights rain. Kittens are running every were playing. Birds are singing. The earth from my view is lovely.

(there must be something that's gone wrong today)

Hmmmmmm.......... Well one of the cockatiels has learned to whistle like the tea kettle. 'only in short bursts'

(isn't that nerve racking?)

No. it's just another tone of whistle among all the others. Just a little startling the first time.

Every thing in the yard is green and lovely. the wormwood is fabulous. The sage is blooming.

The mints are the most wonderful shads of green and silver

It's my dads birthday today. It would be nice to phone him but I have no long distance. Perhaps I'll be able to use Prof.'s cell when I see him.

There are critters to feed and water and candles to lite.

Urban Yard Farm

What a crazy day this has been, Went uptown for a few min. When I got back Charlie Gone -Again Barker(dog) was waiting by the gate, on the wrong side. Guess he had stuf to do too.
Four of the cockateils came out of the bird room. Moe is sitting on my head at the moment. She was found by nieghbors last year sitting on a fence post . They brought her here. What a darling she is. Very friendly. Then there is Roo. He is siting in the cage here in the living room. Some times he is real friendly and other days he just wants to be around but not messed with. He was seven and a half years with the same family. They started haveing kids and he started biteing. He's a great little guy. You can tell if your around much he misses his first people. They mate for life so it's real hard on them if they are re-homed. On top of the cage is Pete. Tough little bugger. He BITES. but he's getting better. He will step up from time to time but not if he dosn't want to., Sitting in the door way to the cage is Gizzmo. Quiet little bird. Just sort of hangs out.

It's about time for thier treats. Then they all take naps. "if I'm lucky:)"

Then I can sweep the floors ( the critters don't like the broom or the vacc) They totaly freek.

Wish the ghost would do some of the house work around here. One has been seen cleaning counters in the kitchen but unfortunatly she was in a different realm. At least the counter wasn't clean when she was done. A happy little ol' lady. Has been seen a few times, always seems to be singing. You don't HEAR anything yet you can feel she is singing well she works or what ever.
She seems to enjoy being here, so let it be.

Off to the kitchen for some kitchen majic. perhaps I'll discover a spell to lose wieght :)

Life on the farm

Here it is. The suns up and so are the critters.
Before my feet hit the floor six four week old kittens are crawling on me crying for breakfast. OUCH... the little buggers have teeth. Best get up.
Put the water on for tea, warm kitten formula, start the feeding. OOPS... there's the tea water. Make tea well feeding little one. Finish feeding wial tea steeps. Put the chickens out. Yes they slept in the house last night. There has been a skunk around. Have my tea wial cheking E-mail. Hmmmm just more junk mail. On to feed the chickens, dogs, cats, and birds. (You will meet them all in time.
Time to greet the world.
Almost got out the door. Two kittens decided they were still hungry.
On the subject of kittens. Wanting to do somethig for the world but NOT wanting more cats I volenteered as a foster for orphans. The Humane society is great. This batch is two litters combined and came with a mama cat that was careing for them. None of thesse are hers but she is doing great with them. She ran out of milk so I have been feeding formula from a pet nursing bottle. At eight weeks they go back to be spade (they are all female) including the mama. then they go to thier new homes. It's wonderful, I get the pleasure of kittens with out haveing more cats or looking for homes for them. Selfish on my part.
Fed the chickens, now it's time to get dressed and walk the dogs. Then it's time to feed and water the birds. Nine cockateils and one budgie.
Life is wonderful.
Thank you great mother of all.
